Learn to teach the yoga poses demonstrated to raise bone mineral density as you gain a deeper understanding of bone health and how yoga works to counteract osteoporosis. This live, online, 20-hour two-weekend program is geared toward yoga teachers and therapists, but anyone may attend.  

This program will be recorded and the recordings will be available to participants for six weeks. By registering for this program, you consent to having your image and voice recorded during the workshop and shared with the other participants.

If you are seeking teacher certification, please note that the program will conclude with a written exam and a practicum involving teaching yoga poses to the group. Live online attendance at this final session (Sunday, July 27, 2:00 – 4:00 PM ET) is mandatory for those seeking certification.

Additionally, if you are seeking Teacher Certification, you must meet the following requirements. You must be: a yoga teacher with at least a 200-hr certification OR, a medical professional (MD, RN, BSN, PT, LMT, etc) practicing for at least two years. You must also pass the written exam and live practicum involving successfully teaching yoga poses to the group.

 Loren M. Fishman, MD, B.Phil., (oxon.), graduated from Christ Church, Oxford, and spent the year 1973 with B. K. S. Iyengar in Pune, India. He has taught yoga ever since. He went on to Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical School, then to a Tufts-Harvard Residency program, and served as Chief Resident at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Loren has written and edited more than 97 academic articles and chapters, and 12 books, including Yoga for Osteoporosis and Yoga for Arthritis (W.W. Norton), with Ellen Saltonstall, Yoga and Multiple Sclerosis with Eric Small, and Healing Yoga–Yoga Cures for 20 Common Conditions. Dr. Fishman has a private practice in Manhattan and is on staff at Columbia University Medical School.
