Loren Fishman, MD is Medical Director of Manhattan Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in New York City, author of seven books, author or editor of more than 70 academic articles, and a world-recognized pioneer in the treatment of piriformis syndrome and rotator cuff tear, for which he has developed non-surgical interventions. Other non-surgical interventions include plantar faciitis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

His ability to diagnose and cure all types of back pain has earned him wide acclaim. Dr. Fishman has applied yoga to the treatment of sciatica, scoliosis, rotator cuff syndrome, multiple sclerosis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and shoulder pain.

In addition to his private practice, Manhattan Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, he is Associate Editor of Topics in Geriatric Rehabilitation, on the staff at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and a past president of the New York Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

He has conducted clinical trials on the efficacy of physical therapy and two types of bolulinim neurotoxin and has also been a specialist in electrodiagnosis of low back pain and sciatica for over 20 years.
